Gillece Services Announces Tax Credit Opportunities for Customers with Qualifying High-Efficiency Equipment

Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) February 08, 2013

Tax season is here, and homeowners who installed energy efficient equipment within the last year may benefit from recent legislation. Earlier in January, the fiscal cliff was avoided by Congress, thus reinstating tax credits for high-efficiency equipment that had originally expired in 2011. Gillece Services customers may now have the opportunity to receive tax credits for qualifying high-efficiency systems.

The new bill, which keeps tax rates from increasing for American tax payers, extends tax credits from January 1, 2012 until December 31, 2013 for qualifying equipment installed after December 31, 2011. Equipment includes the highest efficiency water heaters, furnaces, boilers, air conditioners, and heat pumps, to which credits may be applied for up to $ 500. Many environmental activists and home services companies throughout the country have been encouraging homeowners to switch to high-efficiency equipment as a way to save money on utility bills, increase heating and cooling performance, and reduce their carbon footprint.

Gillece Services provides and installs a variety of high-efficiency equipment, some of which would qualify for tax credits, making up the highest efficiency equipment available. Some of these include: water heaters with a thermal efficiency rating of 90 percent; natural gas, propane, and oil boilers and furnaces with at least a 95% AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency); and central air conditioners with a 14 to 16 SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating).

Over time, homeowners are estimated to spend more on utility costs when using insufficient equipment than on energy efficient equipment itself, and they have the potential to save thousands of dollars in the long run. High-efficiency upgrades replace outdated equipment that may be bad for the environment with equipment that is both energy and cost efficient and better performing. Savings can be seen through both monthly and annual utility costs, and in some cases, pollution output may be reduced by half.
